Sorry!

Hey everyone! I'm back!
My most since at apologies for my rather abrupt disappearance. I had some pretty heavy life stuff happen, and I felt the need to share, but I was unable to put pen to paper (text to screen).

My dad died. The man who raised me, took me in as his own (he is not biologically related). I felt that I owed him a proper send off. It was too painful to write. So I just left it.

Where are we now?
Seeing as it has been so long since my last post, a lot has happened.
I became a CRST (car seat technition) my course fees were kindly donated by *someone*. I love it so much and will go for my trainer as soon as I am able to.
Nathaniel had a 3rd set of tunes placed.  He had serious complications while under GA.  We will not be allowing  a 4th set.
We got pregnant.
We moved into a bigger house. (I was so grateful to be able to leave the old house, but sad at the same time. I brought home two babies there, they took their firsts there. If was a lot to leave behind.)
We found out we were expecting a GIRL!
Zacharey had dental surgery. They were able to save and repair his teeth, without any extractions (yay!)
We had a home birth (our midwife didn't come in time,  Adam caught her).

We went to see Jack Newman when Gabrielle was 15 days old to have her lip and tongue tie released.
I discovered that I suck at painting and that I really hate it.

I promise I'll update more frequently.

14 Months!

Oh boy, oh boy.
The little mister is 14 months old! He is so spunky and crazy. He has so much personality (it shows in his wild hair).
Time is flying by, I can't believe Zacharey is 14 months already! I need to remind myself not to blink. If you blink you miss stuff. All the stuff.
I am grateful that I am granted the opportunity to continue to stay home with him. Many of my friends have ether returned to work, or are returning shortly.
As Zacharey is a full time mover and shaker now, our time at Mother Circle has long passed. Technically, we should have stopped going months ago. I miss going and I miss coffee time after.
We really make a point to keep him busy, to have friends to play with. He really enjoys being around other people.
Zacharey had a bit of an accident this month. He was being silly and fell over on his bin of books and jammed his tooth (central incisor) back up into his gums. I didn't even know it was possible for that to happen. I thought he had knocked it out! An emergency trip to the dentist and an x-ray later showed that it was just jammed back up! OUCH! It was told to us that the tooth may come back down on its own and be fine, it may come back down and not be fine or it may not come back down at all. Two of those possibilities would mean dental surgery to extract the tooth. We also discovered that some of Zacharey's teeth came in without enamel and he had the starting of 3 very small cavities. Terrific! Have I mentioned that we do not have dental coverage? This boy's mouth is going to cost us a fortune.
For right now the treatment plan is to sit and wait to see if the tooth will come back down and to do a fluoride treatment once daily to help prevent further decay. The fluoride treatment is not ideal, and I am well aware that it is a neuro toxin, however, having his teeth rot away is worse.

This picture sums Zacharey up perfectly <3

Sometimes you need to do whatever it takes to get dishes done :)

Zacharey is still happily REAR FACING and will be until he is AT LEAST 3.

You know, just eating a vacuum at the dentist...

Apple pIcking

Now that we have our very own vehicle (yea, I know) we can finally do family outings that are out of town.
We took the boys to pick some apples at Waddell Apples. It was a lot of fun.
We ended up with 28lbs of apples, which lasted almost a month. We ended up going back just before the season ended and picked 20lbs more.
We made a bunch of appley treats which everyone loved.

Run or Dye

I was very fortunate enough to participate in the Run or Dye run held at Fort Henry this year.
Even though I know that Run or Dye did not give a hearty sum of the profit to charity like they led us to believe, I still had a lot of fun and cannot wait to do it next year. I have already preregistered :)

So excited!
Knee high rainbow socks, tutu and shiny blue spandex that I found at a thrift shop!

Still partially clean!

Soaked from the VERY cold torrential downpour. It rained pretty much the entire time.

13 months!

My crazy, stronged willed baby is a toddler. A walking toddler. I can't even lie to myself any longer. He isn't just taking a few unassisted steps, he has completely stopped crawling and walks everywhere now. Just in time to out grow his over priced baby shoes.
What a boy!
He is unstoppable, and can scale the wall unit and couch with ease. He loves cars and balls and thinks it is hilarous to turn off Daddy's xbox when he is playing. (I also find this hilarious haha).
We have made it 13 months of breastfeeding. Amazing!
Some days he nurses so much that I am starting to feel a little touched out. He loves to pinch me while he nurses, so that is a whole new can of beans.
We are still a no sleep house. And by we, I really mean me. Some nights he allows me only 2 or 3 wakings, others he only unlatches to switch sides. Thank god for coffee.
We were able to go to the Community Midwives of Kingston's annual fall picnic. It was so nice seeing Susan again. I really wish that we could have seen Myriam as well, but I know that she is busy caring for new families in Cambridge.

Back to School!

After what seemed like the longest summer of my life, the older two boys are back at school. I think that I need to squirrel away money all year so I can send them to some form of day camp next summer. Don't get me worng, I love them to pieces, but they are EXHAUSTING. Plus, there are only so many hours we can spend at the YMCA.
Nathaniel started in SK (senior kindergarten) and Alex in grade 6.
I am grateful that Nathaniel has the same teachers as last year, it was such a good fit for him and I get a long really well with his teachers.
Alex has a new teacher this year and is a straight 6 class. I am not a fan of split grades, so this works out well. I am hopeful he will have a good year.

The 12th Month

I realize this is a bit behind. I am sorry. Better late than never right?
Zacharey's 12th month was so busy. He is such a busy, busy boy. He climbs and tries really hard to walk.
Other than a few steps, he has not taken off in the waking department. I am totally okay with this. He still is not sleeping through the night. He is too buy nursing like a newborn. We are working on it. He wont be like this forever right?
Although still not a big boy, Zacharey is growing right on track for him. He is exceeding all milestones, which is amazing! He has taken a few steps, but is NOT walking fully. I am totally okay with this.
12 months
19lbs 3oz
31 inches long
18 inch head
The pediatrician we have been seeing gave us the okay to only make an appointment with her if there is a problem down the road. She feels that his growth and development is wonderful and there is no need for us to come in anymore. All of Zacharey's well baby checks will be scheduled with our family doctor from now on.
We celebrated Zacharey's birthday in the park with a bunch of his friends. I think he had fun. It was a rainbow theme, nice bright colours. Although a bit windy, the weather was perfect. I think we will continue with our outdoor 'tradition' for him. It was so much better than being stuck indoors.
